Last month Frucor Suntory Key Account Manager Nick Ryan was selected as a finalist in the Supplier category at the Peter Jowett Awards hosted by the Australian Association of Convenience Stores (AACS) in Melbourne.
As one of the three finalists, Nick got the opportunity to present his submission to the question: In light of Covid-19 and the changes of shopper behaviour and dynamics, what do you believe convenience stores need to focus on to remain relevant and provide growth in sales and foot traffic?
Nick explains: “My answer to the topic focused on what I believe to be the biggest opportunity for the convenience channel – accelerating the successful joint business ventures with Coffee and QSR* partners.
“I outlined three key possible initiatives: implement an in-store joint business marketing strategy, implement a joint business loyalty card and implement a joint business delivery platform.”
A highlight for Nick was getting to experience, present and connect with leaders in the Convenience industry.
“I really enjoyed being able to connect with some of the senior leaders on the AACS Board.
“It was a great opportunity to build relationships and get feedback for future development and improvement.
“The Awards also made me realise how much I love doing what I do and the industry I work in as well as the people I get to do it with.”
